Biography

Dr. Sergio R. Ortiz-Luis Jr. is one of the Philippines' most distinguished business leaders and a steadfast advocate for the country's export industry. Widely recognized for his lifelong commitment to promoting Philippine exports, he serves as the President of the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT), the umbrella organization of Philippine exporters established under the Export Development Act. Throughout his career, he has become a respected voice in shaping trade policies and strengthening the country's position in the global market. Beyond his leadership in PHILEXPORT, Dr. Ortiz has held numerous influential positions in both the public and private sectors. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Export Development Council and represents the private sector in the Philippine Bamboo Council. He is also the Honorary Chairman and Treasurer of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), following his term as its President, and has contributed to various organizations, including the Employers Confederation of the Philippines, Team Philippines Foundation, Inc., and the International Chamber of Commerce Philippines. A passionate advocate for trade, investment, and national development, Dr. Ortiz has likewise served as Honorary Consul General of Romania in the Philippines and has actively participated in numerous civic organizations and corporations. Through decades of dedicated service, he has championed initiatives that foster economic growth, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen partnerships between government and the private sector.
