PCCI, Through its Education and Human Resources Development

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐:
PCCI, through its Education and Human Resources Development Cluster, is holding a Round Table Discussion on the EDCOM 2 Recommendations Relevant to the Business Community, with Pasig Lone District Representative Hon. Roman T. Romulo as resource speaker.
The discussion provides an opportunity for the business community to better understand the recommendations and raise concerns on the countryโs education and training system.
PCCI President Perry Ferrer emphasized the importance of strengthening the education system to ensure that Filipino learners gain the skills and competencies needed by industry.
"The business community has a vital role in shaping an education system that responds to the needs of our economy.โ
Meanwhile, Rep. Romulo highlighted the importance of engaging the business sector in education reform and ensuring that recommendations are translated into meaningful action.
"Education reform must be a shared responsibility. The insights of the business community are important in ensuring that reforms respond to workplace realities.โ
For the business community, the discussion is timely and urgent. PCCI, together with other major business organizations, has called for the institutionalization of a minimum 4% of GDP allocation for education, recognizing education as a key driver of economic growth, workforce development, and national competitiveness.
The inputs and insights gathered during the round table discussion will contribute to consolidated business-sector perspectives that can help inform PCCIโs advocacy positions on education legislation, policy, and implementation.
