Meet 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗚. 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮, a trade union leader, lawyer, lecturer, and presidential merit awardee with nearly four decades of experience in the labor movement. He is known as the “obrero na naging abogado”, who championed workers’ rights through landmark Supreme Court cases, legislative advocacy, and international representation.

From his humble beginnings in Mindanao to leading the Federation of Free Workers (FFW) and the NAGKAISA Labor Coalition, Atty. Matula embodies resilience, service, and collaboration. His lifelong commitment to empowering workers and advancing social justice continues to inspire the next generation of leaders.
