Celebrating Excellence: A Tribute to Environmental Stewardship and Innovation

October 20, 2025, marked a significant day for environmental champions as the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) recognized outstanding contributions to sustainability. Honorable Sara Z. Duterte, Vice President, Republic of the Philippines, PCCI President Consul Enunina Mangio, PCCI Chairman George T. Barcelon, 51st PBC&E Chairman Dennis Anthony H. Uy, and E3 Awards Chairman & Director for Environment and Climate Change Edgardo G. Lacson presented the Excellence in Ecology and Economy Awards at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The prestigious Environmental Stewardship Award (Large Enterprise) was proudly presented to Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation for its ambitious "Driving Towards Carbon Neutrality" program. This initiative sets a clear path to net-zero emissions by 2040, with a significant 50% CO2 reduction target by FY2030, achieved through clean energy adoption, energy-efficiency measures, and strategic tree-planting for carbon sequestration.

Monde Nissin Corporation was honored with the Excellence in Ecology and Economy Award (Large Enterprise). Their comprehensive sustainability efforts, including a shift to geothermal and solar power, energy optimization, the use of coconut shell biomass, electric vehicle logistics, eggshell waste repurposing, full plastic footprint recovery, reduced water consumption, and an impressive 99% landfill waste diversion, truly embody their mission to promote well-being and advance sustainable food security.

In the small enterprise category, Perr-res Fruit Food Proudcts Processing received the Environmental Innovation Award. They were recognized for their exemplary sustainable farming and processing practices, which transform surplus citrus into valuable products, promote packaging reuse, support reforestation and zero-waste operations, and empower farmers through community partnerships, earning national acclaim for their innovative waste-to-nutrition solutions.

Two Special Citation Awards were also given. Mariwasa Siam Ceramics, Inc. received a Special Citation in the Excellence in Ecology and Economy Award - Large Enterprise Category for its innovative Biomass Utilization Program. This program effectively replaced fossil fuels with rice husk and sawdust, leading to significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, advancing carbon-neutral operations, and achieving substantial fuel cost savings.

Finally, LITHOS Manufacturing, OPC was awarded a Special Citation in the Environmental Innovation Award - Small Enterprise Category for their groundbreaking RAINFOLD – Foldable Tank with Zeramic Filter. This innovation provides a transformative rainwater harvesting solution to remote, water-stressed communities, effectively addressing water scarcity and supply disruptions caused by natural disasters and prolonged dry seasons.
