LOOK: Japan-ASEAN business and government leaders gathered today in Bangkok, Thailand for the 18th Dialogue for Innovative and Sustainable Growth (DISG) Taskforce Meeting, part of the ongoing effort to deepen regional cooperation across supply chains, innovation, digital investment, and energy transition.

Mr. Perry Ferrer, President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the Philippines' Economic Landscape & Japan Cooperation Opportunities - offering a candid, data-rich look at both the vulnerabilities and the strengths of the Philippine economy, and mapping out where Japanese partnership could have the greatest impact.

His message was direct: the Philippines' structural challenges including energy insecurity, food import dependency, governance gaps, are not just weaknesses to manage, but investment entry points for capable partners.

The 18th DISG Task Force Meeting was held under the ASEAN-Japan Economic Cooperation framework and operated by AMEICC, with participation from JETRO, AJBC, ASEAN-BAC, ERIA, PCCI, TCC, VCCI, and METI, among other partners.
