IN PHOTOS: PCCI President Perry A. Ferrer formally opened the 2026 Energy Summit, jointly organized by the PCCI Membership Committee and Energy Committee, at the New World Hotel, Makati City.
In his remarks, Ferrer emphasized the urgent need for the Philippines to secure reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy by harnessing its vast natural resources and the ingenuity of its people.
He outlined three strategic pillars for government action:
• Accelerating indigenous energy development
• Modernizing the country’s energy infrastructure
• Building strategic partnerships anchored on sovereignty
“The energy disruption of the coming decades will not wait for us to be ready. The climate crisis will not pause. Let us act decisively-- because every Filipino family, factory and future depends on reliable, affordable, and secure energy,” Ferrer stressed.
The Summit brought together over 200 participants, including PCCI members, local chambers, government leaders, industry players, and key stakeholders.

2026 ENERGY SUMMIT

PCCI AT YOUR SERVICE: The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee headed by PCCI Chairman Emeritus, Treasurer, and Director for CSR Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr., CSR Committee Chairperson Nora Lacuna, CSR Committee members Sallie Lacson and Gia Veloso and PCCI Rizal President Gladie Mallari along with Binangonan CCI successfully conducted a Livelihood Program and Medical Mission last April 26 to 27 in Barangay Kalinawan, Talim Island, Binangonan, Rizal.
The initiative served approximately 700 beneficiaries, including children and adults from underserved communities.
The success of this mission was made possible through the invaluable support and collaboration of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Local Poverty Reduction Action Office of Taytay, and the Pamahalaang Bayan ng Binangonan, PCCI Binangonan Chapter, PHILEXPORT, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Binangonan, alongside corporate sponsors Unilab, Phoenix Publishing House Corporation, MVW Real Estate Corp., Cathay Drug Company Inc., and Reyes Haircutters.

Champion the shift toward collective resilience and seamless connectivity

PCCI Chairman Emeritus George T. Barcelon recently attended a meeting between the ASEAN-BAC Philippines and the AZEC Parliamentary League led by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and senior Japanese officials. The meeting centered on the need for deeper collaboration to advance energy security and cooperation as the region shifts to low-carbon and sustainable energy systems.
Also present at the meeting were former PCCI Vice President Michael Tan, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya and Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines Shimoda Shigeru.
The Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) is a Japanese-led initiative launched in 2023 with 11 nations, aimed at achieving net-zero emissions while ensuring economic growth and energy security. It focuses on tailored decarbonization pathways, public-private partnerships, and financing for projects like renewable energy and hydrogen.

The PCCI NCR Central Sector General Membership Meeting, hosted by PCCI Quezon City, was recently held at the Versailles Tent, Novotel Manila Araneta City.
?The event brought together business leaders and delegates from the local chambers of Quezon City, Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Manila, and Marikina.
?The program, titled “The Wartime Playbook: Turning Economic Pressure into Competitive Opportunities ,” focused on equipping local enterprises with strategies to adapt and thrive amid current market conditions.
?Guest speakers Jose Magsaysay, Jr. and Prof. Clarita Carlos took the stage to share their expertise and practical insights on business resilience, innovation, and strategic growth.
