<p>The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by President Perry Ferrer met H.E. Davide Giglio, Italian Ambassador to the Philippines and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ICCP) led by Mr. Lorens Ziller last February 5, 2026 to discuss opportunities for strengthening Philippines–Italy bilateral cooperation. The discussion highlighted proposed trade missions to Italy in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, wellness, and robotics, aimed at expanding market access and fostering business opportunities. A proposed partnership between PCCI and ICCP, with the support of the Italian Embassy, was discussed as a means to institutionalize cooperation and boost awareness of the Philippines in Italy and vice versa particularly during the pre-ratification phase of the anticipated EU–Philippines Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Mr. Ferrer identified cultural and creative industries as areas for collaboration, including a proposed fashion show to promote Philippine design and cultural exchange. The Ambassador noted a growing demand for Filipino talent in Italy and informed the group of the upcoming Italy Career Day scheduled in October, which will focus on vocational and technical professions. In response, President Ferrer expressed interest in exploring sector-specific training programs conducted by Italian institutions to prepare Filipino workers for eventual employment in Italy, as well as the possibility of education and exchange programs to further strengthen long-term collaboration. Mr. Jude Aguilar, Chairman of PCCI and Mr. Ruben Pasucal, Secretary General of PCCI also expressed interest in cementing stronger ties with Italy through a signing of an MOU with Italy’s national chambers or business organizations. Both sides concluded the meeting with optimism of a more robust bilateral relations.</p>
