Business, health launch Gawad Bayaning Kalusugan

BUSINESS organizations and health professionals came together to celebrate the stories of frontliners who braved the risks of the COVID-19 that claimed the lives of many Filipinos, at the launching of the Gawad Bayaning Kalusugan.

Recognizing the sacrifices of health workers, PCCI President Benedicto V. Yujuico said, “We continue the war against COVID-19 but we also take time to express our gratitude to our frontliners who risk their lives to save others. This is an honor for the business community to be able to support in our own small way in honor of our frontliners.

Gawad Bayaning Kalusugan pays tribute to Frontliners in the health care and case management of patients with CoViD-19 in the Philippine Hospitals.  It celebrates the individual and team stories of heroism and the hallmark service excellence offered by the individual frontliners during the times of the pandemic.

The award is initiated by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), together with the Association of Allied Health Organizations of the Nation (AAHON) and the Health Educationalist, Advocates and Leaders Philippines (HEAL Phils).

The award will have two (2) categories, individual awards, and team awards.  It will be across the country clustered in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and the National Capital Region, across the Covid19-admitting Levels 1, 2, and 3 hospital categories.

Individual and team winners will receive Fifty Thousand Pesos (P50,000) each and a custom-designed trophy by Papal-awarded Ecclesiastical Artist Willy Layug.

Awards sponsors are the Philippine Exporters Confederation (Philexport), Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), Philippine Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce (PSRICC), International Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ICC), Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCCII), Philippine Franchise Association (PFA), Philippine Retailers Association (PRA), PCCI-Quezon City.

Incidentally, PCCI will also confer the Posthumous Award to health workers who died of COVID-19 while performing their duties. The award conferment will be held at the 46th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.

The Gawad Bayaning Kalusugan is open to individuals and teams nominated by their respective hospitals.  Awarding happens on November 26, 2020, in celebration of Thanksgiving Day.  Information about the Gawad Bayaning Kalusugan is available at www.gawadbayani.com.
