As the “voice” of Philippine business, PCCI acts as a proactive catalyst in building globally competitive enterprises in partnership with government, local chambers, academe, and other business organizations. Throughout its 100-year existence, the Chamber has been an important partner of government in advancing key policy reform measures aimed at improving the country’s economic condition and promoting business development. Key focus is given on the steadfast support for the promotion and growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises nationwide.  PCCI promotes the interests of the business community through its representation in government policy making and consultative bodies, to constructively engage government on issues affecting the business community. This comprises the core of PCCI’s strategy of focused advocacy for business growth.

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) will hold its 2010 Tax Updates Seminar: Plans, Policies and Programs of the BIR under the Aquino Administration ” on August 26, 2010, at the New World Hotel, at 1:00-5:30pm

BIR Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares will be the Keynote Speaker to discuss the major policy initiatives, plans, and programs of the BIR under the Aquino administration.

PCCI supports PHILCOCHED Economic Empowerment Program
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) supports the Philippine Council of Cheshire Homes for the Disabled (PHILCOCHED) Economic Empowerment Program to enable people with disability (PWD)  to lift themselves out of poverty and achieve economic independence. The project aims to help PWDs find both self and waged employment and actively seeks to establish partnerships with businesses to increase awareness of and compliance with national and international disability law and to help realize the range of benefits that diversity can bring to the workplaces.

PCCI launches Green Philippines Islands of Sustainability (GPIoS) Project
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is now implementing the project. “Green Philippines Islands of Sustainability”. This is in partnership with the Technical University Ostrava (VSB), Czech Republic, Center for Appropriate Technology (GrAT). Austria Recycling (Arec), STENUM GmbH (member of GrAT), Austria; Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), and Philippine Business for Environment (PBE).

PCCI now accepting nominations for the ASEAN Business Awards
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) announces that the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) is now looking to confer awards on exemplary companies in the region.

The ABA recognizes and showcases outstanding and successful homegrown companies that are contributing significantly to ASEAN’s economic growth and prosperity. At the same time, it provides a venue for the promotion of ASEAN SMEs to help them grow to become MNCs and potentially global players.
