The International and Trade Affairs Committee is focused mainly on undertakings geared towards trade and investment promotions and building up of international linkages and networks abroad. The Committee, composed of twenty-nine (29) business councils in Asia, North and South America, Europe, Africa and Middle East, conducts business missions, participates in regional network activities—CACCI (Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations), and partners with more than 100 chambers worldwide, among others.

The Committee also undertakes various projects that help facilitate trade and encourage business and increase networking activities among local and foreign businessmen.  These services include:  PCCI Business Representatives; Visa- On-Arrival; and ATA Carnet (Temporary Admission of Goods). 



Buying Mission to Istanbul, Turkey
The Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade of Turkey (DTM) and the Independent Industrialists & Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD), together with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Manila are currently organizing a Buying Mission to Istanbul, Turkey scheduled on 05 – 09 October 2010.

This mission aims to encourage Philippine companies to explore the market potentials of Turkey by providing them an excellent platform towards a cost-effective and rewarding business networking with industry players.

The Republic of Turkey recognized to be a strategic gateway for commerce; has a well-deserved reputation for fostering profitable and worthwhile business deals within a progressive and dynamic society. Being the 17th largest economy of the world, Turkey also offers a significant domestic market. The country is excellently positioned as a natural production and marketing base in the region, due not only to its neighbouring countries in the East and West but also to its proximity to numerous other countries in the Eurasian region. It can be easily accessed from different ports of entry to transport goods to/from abroad via any means, presenting further competitive flexibility.

Philippines Top Priority for Korean ODA: NEDA
NEDA Deputy Director-General Rolando Tungpalan said Yoon Tae-yong, Deputy Director-General of south Korea’s Ministry of Strategy and Finance, expressed his government’s willingness to increase aid for the Philippines over the next three years to 2013 through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF).

Welcome Reception and Forum on Philippines-India Renewable Energy Opportunities
The Philippine-India Business Council of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a Welcome Reception and Forum on Philippines-India Renewable Energy Opportunities last June 22, 2010 at the Peninsula Hotel Manila.
