Visayas

The Visayas is at the center of the Philippines and is divided into 3 regions, namely Western Visayas (Region VI), Central Visayas (Region VII) and Eastern Visayas (Region VIII). Its strategic location makes it a vital economic and political link between the country’s two main islands of Luzon and Mindanao. Visayas has relatively modern social and infrastructure facilities. It has also large agricultural areas that are appropriate for the cultivation of traditional and non-traditional high value crops. It also produces a significant amount of products for both domestic consumption and exports. Its rich natural resources likewise make this group of islands a popular tourist destination.
