To further stimulate our commercial, economic and scientific and technological relations with the United Arab Emirates, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) forged a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry on 12 January 2005. FUAECCI is consist of seven chambers of commerce representing the following emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah Another cooperation treaty was forged by PCCI with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) during the 26-27 January 2008 working visit of Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to Dubai, UAE. UAE, which has an open and progressive economy, is one of the Philippine’s most significant trading allies in the Middle East region. The signing of these agreements will certainly boost our market access and promote closer ties and meaningful interactions with UAE. Focused efforts are being made to push certain sectors to the UAE market, namely, Food, Furniture, Tourism/Health and Wellness, Business Process Outsourcing and Manpower Recruitment. PCCI created the Philippines-UAE Business Council on 23 April 2007 to implement our trade and investment promotion activities with the Emirati business sector.
