Phils-Vietnam Bus. Council
The Philippines-Vietnam Business Council was formally organized last July 31, 2007 with the following mission –
  • Networking – Establish and maintain harmonious relations with government and private sector organizations fostering the same objectives from both countries. Facilitate the exchange of info on trade and business opportunities and business partnerships between the two countries.
  • Foster Business Environment that is supportive by acting as sounding board/forum for discussions and formulation of position and strategic institutional representation on critical issues affecting business in both countries. Provide inputs and market/technical support in bilateral meetings on Joint Committees.
  • Commercial Facilitation – Provide the mechanisms by which domestic firms are able to find and forge strategic alliances with counterparts in Vietnam. Provide trade information and referral services.
  • Promotion – Participate/organize trade/business missions and other related events designed to facilitate market access and promote investments, products and services of members in Vietnam. Conduct seminars and workshops on subjects relating to better business between the two countries.
The first big event of the Council was the Philippines-Vietnam Business Forum with H.E. Nguyen Tan Dzung, Prime Minister, Socialist Republic of Vietnam as the Guest of Honor and Speaker last August 10, 2007 at the Manila Hotel.

The forum was highlighted by a forging of an agreement between the PCCI and Vietnam CCI to strengthen economic and trade ties between the Philippines and Vietnam specifically to push the trade from $1.12 billion in 2006 to past the $2B mark.




Search Is On for the 2008 ASEAN Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs
In recent years, the Women Global Summit has been organized to connect women entrepreneurs, specialists, and country leaders into a global alliance with the aims of sharing best practices, overcoming problems, and promoting the status of women in business and socio-economic undertakings.

This year, the Women Global Summit would be hosted by Vietnam and part of its working program is the 2008 Award for ASEAN Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs. The award aims to praise ten (10) women entrepreneurs who pay outstanding contribution to socio-economic development of ASEAN countries.
