Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) is now accepting nomination for the 2009 Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) Awards.
The KAPATID Awards is a biennial awards activity of ECOP established in 1995, which recognizes companies that have excelled in the field of industrial relations, quality and productivity, social accountability, and strategic visioning and partnering for business and job survival. Essentially, these practices are characterized by closer enterprise level cooperation between management and employees, whether in a unionized or non-unionized setting.

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the country's biggest and most influential business organization, yesterday lauded the Bureau of Customs (BOC) headed by Customs Commissioner Napoleon Morales for exceeding its revenue target for August by 10.9%. PCCI President Edgardo G. Lacson commended the impressive collection performance of the bureau, touted as the second largest revenue source of the country, in the last five months wherein they have been consistently exceeding their revenue targets. The bureau has so far collected a total of 167.841B pesos since January of this year, with a 5.172B margin from their 162.669B goal.
