The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has signed agreement with the counterpart Chamber in China—the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Beijing. To widen its network, PCCI also forged partnership with sub-councils of the latter in Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangdong, Hunan, Guangxi, and Chongqing, among others.
As the results of these agreements, the RP-PROC Business Council was formed primarily to initiate and to lead in undertakings that wiould promote trade and investments between the Philippines and China.
Over the years, the RP-PROC Business Council is actively pursuing projects and activities that promote the two economies. PCCI is often visited by Chinese delegations with the Council hosting or taking over the arrangements for said business meetings and all other activities.
PCCI through the Council also organized two (2) of the biggest business delegations to PROC in 1995 and 2001 during the state visit of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
