Go Negosyo Starts Kapatid Dev’t Projects in Sulu

Last December 19, Go Negosyo led by Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion and Department of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol launched the Negosyo Para sa Kapayapaan sa Sulu in Malacanang together with President Rodrigo Duterte. Attended by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez, former Sulu Governor Sakur Tan and current Governor Totoh Tan and more than 500 entrepreneurs, advocates, and government officials, the launch successfully presented the program of rehabilitation for Sulu.

A month after, big brother conglomerates and PA Concepcion met with President Duterte once again to give an update on the developments of the Sulu program. Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez also joined the discussion. Go Negosyo Kapatid conglomerates supports the President in helping areas of conflict and extreme poverty in the country. The President also commended the private sector for helping Filipinos achieve inclusive growth.

Following the successful meeting with President Duterte, PA Concepcion arranged another meeting with Finance Secretary Dominguez together with the Kapatid Conglomerates to discuss more business and finance issues and most importantly, the projects concerning the areas of extreme poverty. Secretary Dominguez echoed the support of President Duterte and assured that the government has allotted a budget for the development of ARMM.

On February 23, there will be a series of events in Sulu to commence the some of the development programs. First, there will be a launch of the SM Foundation – Harbest Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Agri Training and Capacity Building Program in a demo farm area in Jolo City, Sulu. Second, there will be a groundbreaking ceremony in Sultan Jamalul Kiram Central School and Kulasi Elementary School for the classrooms donated by Chinese Federation of Commerce and Industry and Cong. Arthur Yap of Bohol. There will also be another ceremony for the first two Kapatid Villages in Sulu which will be located in Brgy. Anuling Patikul and Brgy. Kajatian Indanan. For the past months, more than 200 houses were donated by many Kapatid big brothers which will support hundreds of families in province. There is also an on-going rehabilitation work to improve mobile and data connection by PLDT and SMART.


(A) The Integrated Provincial Health Office will receive donations of medical equipments and capacity building trainings for its medical staff through the MVP Group of Companies. (B) Most classrooms which are old and dilapidated will receive donations for rehabilitation from Kapatid big brothers such as the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Aside from these, more projects will be launched in the coming months in Sulu including establishment of coconut mill industry, provision of hospital equipment and capacity building, rehabilitation of schools, villages, and other livelihood programs. By March, there will be a commencement of poultry contract growing project for small farmers by the Bounty Fresh group, and on May 2017, there will be an agriculture capacity training program by ATISCO of the Yazaki Torres group.

More and more Kapatid big brothers are extending their help to the small brothers through Go Negosyo’s Kapatid, Angat Lahat Program. Eventually, with the strengthened partnership of the private sector and the government, prosperity and inclusive growth will be achieved.
