PCCI Press Statement on the Quirino Grandstand Tragedy |

24/08/10 - The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is one with the rest of the Filipino nation and the world in expressing our deepest grief and sympathy to the families and friends of the victims, and offers prayers for the full recovery of the survivors of the tragedy that happened yesterday.
PCCI is ready to work with the government agencies concerned to expedite investigation and justice for the victims and survivors of the unfortunate incident. PCCI also expresses desire to expand cooperation between Philippines and China in initiating feedback and support for the security and protection of both countries’ citizens, investors, and travelers.
Despite this tragic incident, PCCI hopes that the longstanding diplomatic and economic relations that China and Philippines have initiated and achieved in the past would not be affected. |

24/08/10 - The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), together with other business organizations, hosted a forum last August 18, 2010 at the New World Hotel in Makati with Finance Sec. Cesar Purisima, Bureau of Customs Commissioner Angelito Alvarez, and Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares as guest speakers.
PCCI president Amb. Francis Chua, in his opening remarks, underscored the respective roles of the speakers in managing the fiscal position of the country and generating revenues to fund programs and projects that promote and sustain economic development.

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) will hold its 2010 Tax Updates Seminar: Plans, Policies and Programs of the BIR under the Aquino Administration ” on August 26, 2010, at the New World Hotel, at 1:00-5:30pm
BIR Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares will be the Keynote Speaker to discuss the major policy initiatives, plans, and programs of the BIR under the Aquino administration.
